Welcome Message

The world is coming closer with the development of modern technology. We are living in a world where we are "neighbors" with friends who live at the opposite end of the world. However, although we can speak one another's language, there are quite often conflicts due to cultural misunderstanding or merely due to ignorance.

I hope American and Korean students can take this opportunity to learn in-depth about one another's culture thus, advancing in mutual understanding and collaboration. Furthermore, I hope American students will use this opportunity to get integrated to Korean culture and also contribute to the community by "thinking globally and acting locally".

The NSLI-Y and CLS programs are special to our organization, as they are the first inbounding programs for American student. YES International has been sending Korean youth abroad to experience inter-cultures since it was founded. With much experience gained from coordinating outbounding programs and together with the know-how from mother organization, International Workcamp Organization (IWO), YES International will make every effort to make this program meaningful and enriching for all students participating.

I hope all of you coming to Korea, will gain invaluable experience in Korea which will be a stepping stone for you to be more competitive in the global society. Dream bigger dreams and work towards your goal.
